KEMIJÄRVI’S WOODEN HOTEL

KEMIJÄRVI’S WOODEN HOTEL IN AN AMAZING LOCATION ON THE SHORES OF LAKE PÖYLIÖJÄRVI

A four-star, wooden hotel – Puuhotelli – on the sandy shores of Lake Pöyliöjärvi will be built on the Hietaniemi promontory. This will bring much needed hotel services to Kemijärvi in response to the strong growth in Lapp tourism.

Are you in investor in the accommodation and food services sector? Grasp an excellent opportunity in an unspoiled area on the flanks of five Lapp fells, in Finland, close to an airport on the Arctic Circle.  Kemijärvi is an up and coming location for lake holidays around the year in the neighbourhood of five fells. The Rovaniemi and Kuusamo airports are just over an hour away and Kemijärvi has a branch-line railway station.

Amazing Lapland scenery

From the hotel grounds, guests will be able to enjoy the tranquil lakeside landscape, the Northern Lights, the midnight sun and the fresh and clean air of Lapland.
The unique Puuhotelli will highlight the use of local raw materials in both its construction and services.

Kemijärvi’s Puuhotelli will fit in with and highlight the lakeside scenery. There will be an unrestricted view of the lake and fell landscape from all of the hotel’s general spaces.

The overall structure will be people-friendly and take account of the environment. Wood will be used in a versatile manner on the facade, to direct the customers’ attention to the parts of the hotel that matter most to them. The hotel’s wooden structure will enable healthy internal air and serve as an environmentally friendly, renewable material; the same amount of wood is regenerated in Finland’s forests in under one minute.

Well-being from wood

Local natural materials individually selected for each room will emphasise the closeness of nature and create a warm and atmospheric setting for the activities in question. Healthy living and well-being will be a key element of the hotel’s rooms and structures as well as its services.

The rooms have been designed with an emphasis on nature and the surrounding scenery. The views will allow customers to enjoy the lakeside scenery, the greenness of the forest and the shimmering Northern Lights without leaving their hotel rooms. A timber structure with rooms designed for optimal orientation towards natural light will also promote indoor comfort and level out temperature variations.

Kemijärvi offers excellent opportunities for activities and hobbies all year round. The Pyhä-Luosto National Park is just 50km from Kemijärvi. In addition, the Oulanka and Riisintunturi National Parks are within driving distance. The town is surrounded by five ski resorts and located close to two airports.
